With the Redskins defensive line tied at 16th, there was a need for defensive end and defensive tackle as they went into the draft. But after trading their first round pick, they used their 3 second round picks for pass catchers and didnt address defense until the 7th round. This could be considered a gamble with DE Phillip Daniels 35, and DT Cornelius Griffin 31, both having missed games due to injuries.
Defensive Greg Blache said they had to work with what they had on the roster and also that maybe the guys picked in later rounds would add depth.

This is another of those teams that are a work in progress. Or should they have gone for the defensive players instead?
