The alleged shooter of Sean Taylor says they burned their clothes to cover up the crime.
It was a botched robbery attempt. The suspects thought that Taylor would be with the Redskins that weekend in Tampa even though he was out with a knee injury.
One suspect had stayed at Taylor's home for several days helping with preparations for a party for Taylor's sister. The suspect saw Taylor give his sister a bag with $10000 in it. He also saw other large sums of money around the house.

I'm kind of wondering if they thought no one was home, why did they take a gun? This whole thing makes me angry.

Unfortunately in todays world, carrying a gun for some groups is a status symbol. This entire situation was just a sad mess.
