| Taylor's Dad thanks team for its support Pedro Taylor, whose son died of a gunshot wound Nov. 27, arrived at Redskins Park around 10:15 a.m., stayed approximately 20 minutes and left carrying a poster of Sean Taylor and his teammates. Pedro Taylor then returned just before noon for a 40-minute visit. Pedro Taylor, the Florida City, Fla., police chief, was in the Washington area to be a guest on Comcast's pre- and postgame Redskins shows Saturday. Taylor publicly thanked the organization while meeting with reporters, expressing his appreciation for the support he and his family have received in the wake of his son's death. "I think that the character and leadership speaks volumes of the Redskins," Taylor said. "I stated before and I'll state it again: Just the way they fought, the heart and integrity and what they stand for, it's unspeakable. It's just appreciation, love for my family from this family, [and] we'll always be supportive of this team." He said that Sean Taylor's 20-month-old daughter, Jackie, was doing "great." "We'll continue to try to get memorabilia and things," Taylor said, "so that she can remind herself of her father and who he was." washingtonpost.com
