Campbell or Collins?

If the Redskins make the playoffs, word is that QB Jason Campbell would be healthy enough to start.

So should he, or should Washington stick with Todd Collins?

I was impressed with Collins the one game I watched him play.
A rusty youngster who's been out a while or the older player who is on a roll?
It might be smart of Washington to go with Collins. I think he will get them farther than Campbell this year. It might depend on how well he plays this week.
How long has Collins been around anyway???

Re: Campbell or Collins?

I say go with the young kid. Washington is not going to the superbowl this year. Get the kid some playoff experience. If he thought it was tough to win in the NFL before, wait until he tries the playoffs.

But if they win, they go to the playoffs. You dont think Campbell has what it takes to beat Dallas, do you? I think their best chance of making it to the playoffs is with Collins.

If Campbell is healthy and they think he is their future, they have to play him to get him big game experience. I don't think anybody has any delusions that Washington would go very far. Give the kid the ball.

Re: Campbell or Collins?

Campbell is the bigger risk/reward player and the Skins aren't that good...they should play him.

See, I'd do the opposite. The team's played better with Collins at the helm. I'd keep him starting.

They will just lose a close playoff game with Collins...they can actually win with Campbell or get blown out.

Re: Campbell or Collins?

Campbell's injury seeming the same as Grossman's and Grossman missed the final four weeks and probably a couple more if the season was longer. I don't see how Campbell would be able to play I would start Collins.

Re: Campbell or Collins?

Any reason why Collins couldnt be the permanent starter???
Maybe it wouldnt hurt Campbell to watch for a while.

He has been in the league for over a decade...and he has been a backup all that time...he is no starter...

Re: Campbell or Collins?

Well, so much for this dilemma. According to the Washington Post, "Todd Collins or Jason Campbell? At this point, according to Washington Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs, there's no question. Gibbs said yesterday that veteran backup Collins will remain the starting quarterback for Saturday's first-round playoff game at Seattle, with Campbell 'a long ways away' from recovering from a knee injury."
