Dan Steinberg of the DC Sports Bog noted that the free souvenir towels with Sean Taylor's number on them were being sold on eBay for prices in the triple figures. Steinberg wrote that memorabilia from Taylor's funeral would likely be available soon.
Well, now it is. You can go to eBay and buy a program from Taylor's funeral.
The seller writes:
This is going to be a REALLY RARE item. There were only about 2000 of these handed out at Sean Taylor's Funeral on 12/3/2007. It was at the PharMed arena, on the FIU campus in SouthWest Miami-Dade County. As I stated, only about 2000 were given out, and there were more than 3000 people present. The bulk of those 2000 handed out, went mostly to family and friends, NFL players and staff, UM players (former and current) and other people in the reserved are in the lower section.
The rest of the people (general public) MAYBE got their hands on a couple hundred of these, so you may NEVER get another chance to get one.
This is a REAL one, not a copy.
Taylor's family has set up a scholarship fund in his name, and if the proceeds from sales like these were going to that fund, this would feel like a nice opportunity for Taylor fans to get a memento for their collections while contributing to a worthy cause. Instead, it just feels creepy.
