Miami police have detained three people for questioning in the shooting death of NFL star Sean Taylor, reports said Friday.

The Miami Herald and WSVN-TV said three young men -- ages 17, 19 and 24, all from the Fort Myers area -- were picked up Friday morning.

Police said Taylor, 24, was shot early Monday as he confronted an intruder in his Miami home. The Washington Redskins safety died the next day without ever regaining consciousness.

Investigators are treating the case as a burglarly gone bad, the reports said.

Taylor's girlfriend, Jackie Garcia, and the couple's 18-month-old baby were home at the time of the break-in but were not hurt.

The article says he was probably targeted because of his wealth and status.
It was good news to hear that they had someone being held, but I still have an empty feeling inside. It doesnt really help to know someone might pay a price for this.
