Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Washington Redskins have signed tight end Chris Cooley to a contract extension.
Per Schefter, the new deal is a seven-year, $30 million contract that includes $14 million in guaranteed money.
Cooley, the Redskins' 2004 third-round pick out of Utah State, has emerged as one of the league's top tight ends. Last year he led the Redskins in catches (57) and touchdowns (six) and was second on the team in receiving yards (734).
