Redskins Draft Preview

Who should the Washington Redskins draft this year? Here's the Sports Network's take on it.

Quote:
The Sports Network - National Football League
Washington places little to no value on the draft, as evidenced by the fact that it has one pick among the first 142 and has an NFL- low five selections overall. Which isn't to say that the Redskins are without needs, particularly on a defense that was comical for its inability to make plays last year. If it keeps the No. 6 pick, it is likely that Washington would draft a pass rusher such as Clemson's Gaines Adams or Arkansas' Jamaal Anderson. An impact cornerback or safety is also needed, but unless they make some deals to get another pick or two on the first day, one of the Skins' major voids will go unfilled. The Redskins' flirtation with the Bears' Lance Briggs shows that they are looking for an upgrade at outside linebacker. Creating depth at receiver, along the offensive line, and on the defensive interior will have to be a second-day priority.
So, who do you think the pick will be? Adams? Anderson? Or will it get dealt for Briggs?

Re: Redskins Draft Preview

This team of late has wanted to build up fast with free agents and established players...they would have been better off keeping their picks...I still don't see Campbell as a long time solution at QB.

Campbell was a product of a draft in which the Skins had two first rounders, though. Gibbs has always been better picking up veteran cast offs and making them work - it's been his M.O. his entire career. If there's one coach I'd trust to trade away a first rounder and get value in return, it's him.

Re: Redskins Draft Preview

With the Briggs deal going under, I am thinking they are going with Adams. with his speed of the snap and his tackling ability can make it work to be more of a all around lineman.
