Redskins inquire about Bears? Briggs
Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, IN - 2 hours ago
The Washington Redskins have talked with the Chicago Bears about disgruntled Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs, who has threatened to sit out the 2007 season after the NFC champions slapped a franchise tag on him.

“The two teams have talked and its in their hands now,” Briggs’ agent Drew Rosenhaus told the Daily Southtown of suburban Chicago on Tuesday. “It’s out of my hands now.”

Bears general manager Jerry Angelo, in town for the NFL meetings, said: “We will take what (the Redskins) said under consideration and we told them if there’s anything on our part we would get back with them,” Angelo said, adding there is no timetable for a deal.

Re: Lance Briggs to Redskins?

Chicago should work out a deal, considering the guy clearly doesn't want to play for them. It's just a matter of value. What are the Redskins willing to give up for him? Heck, what's a linebacker like Briggs worth?

Still nothing new on this front... I'm guessing Angelo won't make the deal. He probably wants more.

Angelo: All quiet on Briggs front
Joliet Herald News, IL - 1 hour ago
LAKE FOREST -- If Lance Briggs holds the key to this weekend's Bears draft, he's doing so somewhere out of general manager Jerry Angelo's immediate thoughts.

Rumors have surfaced in recent days about potential trade offers to the Bears for their disgruntled franchise linebacker, but to date the only offer Angelo says he knows anything about occurred during last month's owners meetings from the Washington Redskins. The talks died. and until something changes, Briggs remains a Bear for next season.

So Angelo is forging ahead looking toward the draft.

"I've not heard anything official from anybody," Angelo said Tuesday in response to reports Tampa Bay and three other teams are interested in the Bears' disgruntled franchise player. "We had our talks with Washington. I haven't talked to Washington in a while. So those are rumors and I really can't speculate on rumors."
