| Re: Redskins Clinton Portis Rift Yep, another fine intelligent post from our unregistered members I could theoretically see Portis getting dealt. He's fragile, and Betts is every bit as good a runner while being more durable. If they can get some good value for Portis and make Betts the starter with Duckett backing him up, they should do it in my opinion.

| Re: Redskins Clinton Portis Rift Clinton Portis has a pretty large contract that makes him nearly impossible to move without inflicting irreparable damage to your cap. I don't think I could pull the trigger on a deal that would make Ladell Betts my feature back. I think Betts is a very good option to have as a backup, but he isn't in Portis' class. One could make a very strong case that Portis is a top five back in the NFL. He has excellent vision, tremendous change-of-direction abilities, adequate power for his size, a suitable extra gear, and a dangerous skillset as a receiver. He is adept at shrinking through the hole and is very slippery. He is the most valuable commodity on that offense. |
