| The Redskins' backup quarterback situation is...a tie? Sounds about right. On Monday, head coach Joe Gibbs said Todd Collins will back up starter Mark Brunell on game days. If Brunell is expected to miss a game, then Jason Campbell will start, with Collins backing him up. "If something should happen to Mark and we have to finish the game, then Todd will be the guy who finishes the game," he said. "For the simple reason that he is a veteran guy, he's real sharp. That's the best way for us to go should anything happen to Mark. "If we have a whole week to go and Mark couldn't start the next week, then Jason would start. So Todd would go to backing up Jason in that game. I think it's the best way for us to go with our quarterbacks, mainly because I think we have two real talented guys." FFLiveWire: Fantasy Football News, Community, Stats and much more... so let me get this straight the 2nd string backs up the 1st string if the 1st string gets hurt but, if the 1st string cant play, then the 2nd string backs up the 3rd string yeah, that makes sense

| Re: Redskins Backup QB's Tie.....Sort Of I think it's time for Joe Gibbs to try out Jason Campbell or Todd Collins. If nothing else, to prepare for next year. The Redskins aren't going anywhere and Mark Brunell is not the answer. I think he should consider retirement. |

| Re: Redskins Backup QB's Tie.....Sort Of Yeah, I agree, kenman. I'd go with Campbell over Collins. They drafted the Auburn QB pretty high and they're not going to be a playoff team, so its time to try the kid out. Let him start and let's see what he's got. Find out if he's the long term solution.
