Well, the Mets and Nationals have swapped catchers. The Nationals announced they have signed free-agent catcher Paul Lo Duca to a one-year contract.

Lo Duca will start and tutor young Jesus Flores (who was traded by the Mets).

No financial terms have hit the news yet, but Lo Duca wanted $5 million.

Lo Duca's stock has fallen pretty far, pretty fast. Is it all because of his mouth and attitude, or are his skills diminishing too?

He has no arm and his bat declined last year. But he can still call a good game and is a locker room leader (or not depending on who you want to believe). He's a guy fans love because he's passionate and he busts his ass.

But he's another year older.

Catchers fall apart very fast. It is always wise to keep a young guy ready.
