Well, despite all the rumors, RP Chad Cordero is still with the Washington Nationals this morning.

"It feels really good to be able to stay here and hopefully see that new stadium next year," Cordero told the Associated Press last night. "I heard they were asking too much. That made me feel a lot better -- it meant the chances of me going were very slim." Did Washington make a mistake by not dealing Cordero for prospects?

A rumor has surfaced that said the Nationals, Mets and Diamondbacks had been working on a three team deal, and as part of that trade Cordero would have gone to New York and Washington would have acquired Arizona OF Carlos Gonzalez. However, the D-Backs refused to part with Gonzalez (it was unclear what they would've received in return). So Washington did apparently try to make a deal involving Cordero; it just fell through.
