| What a mess! What can he hope to accomplish other than a trade. This is the prime example of another inmate trying to take over the asylum. How would you like to start the season with this guy on your team disrupting everything? He is the T.O. of baseball. BBB |

| Re: Alfonso Soriano = T.O. Soriano is in the wrong here, but he cannot be mentioned in the same breath as Owens. He doesn't want to play the outfield, probably thinking he will make more as a second baseman as a free agent, more than likely on the strong advice of whatever agent he has. Unfortunately, he is one of the worst fielding second basemen out there, with a .972 fielding percentage. Compare his with Jeff Kent's career .980, and kent is considered a butcher in the field! Soriano has yet to have the huge payday that will set him for life, and is basing all his moves on this. |

| Re: Alfonso Soriano = T.O. Gotham, What say you if Soriano continues his refusal? Soriano has what he has because baseball exists not vice versa. What would you do as GM? Now Gotham your leverage in the workplace is another story all together. You are more valuable than you think because the sun doesn't shine when mina birds sing in Peru. BBB |

But management is management...they have to decide if Soriano is in the best interest of the Team (aka, will he make the stock holders money or lose them money)... I would buy all arguements on these points if baseball was indeed a game and not a business...alas... it is a business...lets hope that as the mina birds migrate out of Peru, that Soriano lands on the Bucs and hits a ton of homer from his beloved 2nd base position... |

| Re: Alfonso Soriano = T.O. If I'm getting paid 10 million, you could probably Force me to play catcher even though my natural position is set up man in the bull pen. Excuse me guys, I'm getting silly now. I just find the reasoning a bit ridiculous when it comes to this stuff. There's a big golden goose out there for all of these major leaguers and yet they haggle over stuff like this. Sori is misguided to me. BBB |

| Re: Alfonso Soriano = T.O. Soriano wouldn't play CF for the Yankees, so why did the Nats think he would comply for them? He doesn't want to move now more than ever because it's his free agent year and he'll make more as a 2B. Still, a silly turn of events. He'll never play a regular season game for them...I just hope the Mets think twice before going after him. |

| Re: Alfonso Soriano, the T.O. of Baseball Quote:
Soriano has been saying for years that he won't consider playing in the OF. Not running onto the field was a crappy move, but the Nationals have to be held accountable a little bit, too. It was an ill-advised trade and now they're paying for it. |

| Re: Alfonso Soriano, the T.O. of Baseball It is kinda' the opposite of T.O.... I think T.O. would play cornner back, special teams, take snaps under center, or whatever asked on the field. I don't think the guy ever refused to go out on the field, in fact he got upset when he could not go out on the field. Whatever... You would think someone in Nat.'s org. would have iorned this whole "center field v. shortstop" thing with Soriano before pulling the trigger on the deal. |

| City of Bro: 100% correct. Is Jim Bowden a moron? How could he not see this coming? Regarding Soriano: From a principle standpoint I wish they would make him sit out the year but it'll never happen. Unfortunately, this is what sports is today - a business. And to make Soriano sit for the year and then lose him is bad business. |
