Nationals Pick C Jesus Flores in Rule V Draft

I know most of you must be asking...who the hell is Jesus Flores. Well, he was thought to be among the top position prospects in the Mets system. He was clearly the top catcher although he never surpassed the Single-A level I believe. His defense is poor but he has home-run ability.

Well, the Nationals selected him in the rule-V draft held earlier today at the Winter Meetings. I believe this means he must be on the Nationals major league roster all season or he will be returned to the Mets.

Seems a bit of a reach to keep the kid on the major league level all season long but I guess Manny Acta doesn't forsee anyone worthwhile backing up Brian Schneider.
