Sammy Sosa Retire?

Sammy Sosa has told friends instead of begging for a spot, he is going to retire, according to espn.

Even though he has hit 588 career home runs, it is time for Sosa to go. As everyone saw last year with the Orioles, Sosa declined rapidly. You can give any reason why--injuries, skills, alleged "steroid" use that he might have gotten off of, who knows.

The next debate, should Sosa be in the hall of fame??

Just saw a story over on espn asking "will sammy sosa retire?"

Quote:
"Sammy doesn't think of himself as someone who has to beg for a spot on a big league roster," said the source.

I doubt he'll retire, he's so close to 600.

But boy, talk about a quick and sudden fall from grace. I'm not one to blatantly charge with steroid use (what the hell, sure I am ), but Sosa will forever be remembered as an abuser of the illegal drug. Sad but true.

Drugs, cork, and the Hall of Fame.

"Sosa will forever be remembered as an abuser of the illegal drug."

Not to mention the corked bat. He's fallen hard and fast indeed. And no, I don't think he deserves to be in the HoF. How much of his success was him, and how much was his augmentation?

Probably his worst offense was appearing in that really bad movie that two of the NSYNC guys were in. (I had to take my younger sister to see it, OK?)

Nope...

Looks like he's turning down the Nationals. Seems he'd prefer to take his 588 HRs and go home. If I were he, I think I'd go for 600 before I quit -- but I suppose enough's enough.
