| Nationals new manager Who will be the next manager of the Washington Nationals? Reports are that the team has interviewed Houston Astros bench coach Cecil Cooper and Chicago White Sox third base coach Joey Cora. One guy who it won't be is Lou Piniella, who has flat out said he has no interest in managing the team. Who do you think the Nationals wind up hiring?

| Re: Nationals new manager If you want to check out some comedy added to the mix, look at Federal Baseball, a Nats blog. They have a 'lil picture trying to figure out who will be the next Nationals Manager. Right now, they have it between Tony Pena and Terry Pendelton. |

| Re: Nationals new manager Here's the latest headlines on the Washington National's managerial search. According to the Washington Post: "Girardi, according to sources, remains a strong candidate. But the list of potential managers on the three teams remaining in the playoffs -- Detroit, St. Louis and the New York Mets -- includes Mets coaches Manny Acta and Jerry Manuel as well as Cardinals third base coach Jose Oquendo." In addition, the Newark Star-Ledger is reporting the following: "First-base coach Tony Pena has had preliminary conversations with the Washington Nationals about their managerial opening. Cashman said no other teams have sought permission to talk to Yankees coaches." So which of these guys do you think will be the next Washington manager? |

| Re: Nationals new manager I think Joe Giradi or Jerry Manuel would fit best into their organization. They can rebuild a team as shown with the 2006 Florida Marlins and Giradi. Without Alfonso Soriano on the Nationals, they will be equivalent to the Devil Rays. |
