With yesterday's 5-3 win over Florida, the Washington Capitals are back to .500 for the first time in three months.

"We've officially reached mediocrity," coach Bruce Boudreau told the Associated Press after the game. "We always have little goals, and that was a goal... Like anything else, the easiest part is to get there. The hardest part is to get over it and stay above it. If we want to have a chance to make the playoffs, we have to get better than that."

Mediocrity as a goal? Did I read it right? This team is headed no where...outside Ovechkin, they can't score...he has 46 goals...the next best has 14...and the goaltending is average...so yeah, mediocrity might be a good goal for them.

right on man, ur emulating exactly what im thinking. they shouldnt enjoy being in 3rd for long, cuz i have the feeling it wont last long.
