Well, they weren't going to be able to keep Zednik, so why not get a draft pick for the guy?

I'd say that, given the circumstances, this appears to be a smart move for the Caps. What do you think?

I always say, if you're going to re-build, don't do it half-hearted. Trade as many mediocre type players for draft picks as you can.
