Skinner set the school record for completion percentage in a season, breaking his own mark of 65.8% set last year. Skinner is also Wake Forest's career completion percentage leader at 69.5%. He also set ACC records for season and career completion percentage in 2007.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, Skinner was second in the nation to Texas Tech's Graham Harrell. Skinner entered the Meineke Car Care Bowl with a 71.9 completion percentage while Harrell was at 72.7.

Skinner completed 29 of 38 passes in Wake Forest's 24-10 win over Connecticut to finish at 72.4. Harrell was 44 of 69 through the air in Texas Tech's 31-28 win over Virginia in the Gator Bowl and finished the year at 71.8%.
