Wake Forest vs. Nebraska

Wake Forest's ACC title defense got off to a tough start last weekend, with a loss to Boston College. Now the team that gave up 400-plus yards and 5 TDs to BC quarterback Matt Ryan has to focus on stopping the Nebraska running game and Marlon Lucky, who ran for 233 yards against Nevada in Week 1. Will Riley Skinner and company be able to overcome the 20th ranked Cornhuskers this Saturday?

Has a great passer ever come out of Nebraska?...nope...call it 350 yards on the ground and move on...Huskers 48 to 23.

Well, Zac Taylor, threw for 2789 yards and 24 touchdown passes, and won 2006 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors. Does that count?

Huh...well, sure...by Nebraska standards, that's huge...by say Pac-10 standards...it's okay...

Speaking of quarterbacks, it's looking like Wake's Riley Skinner may MISS this game. If he does, the Deacons have NO chance!

If Skinner is out so are the Deacs. I thought this might be a good game to watch. I was even thinking about trying to get tickets and going to the game. But my friend's future wives don't understand that you do not schedule your wedding during football season. So I can't go.

Man this could be bad for Wake.

I still haven't heard anything official one way or the other, but it wasn't looking good.

Re: Wake Forest vs. Nebraska

Skinner is OUT for this week's game, and in fact he's out indefinitely. So expect a big Nebraska win.

Lee Corso's still confident this is gonna be a close one, even without Skinner. I'm not buying it. What other weapons do the Deacons have?

Re: Wake Forest vs. Nebraska

Also injured is DE Matt Robinson

Robinson (Cedartown, GA) was injured on the first play from scrimmage. Cornerback Alphonso Smith intercepted a pass from BC quarterback Matt Ryan and returned it 21 yards for a touchdown. While blocking down field on the return, Robinson suffered a high ankle sprain and missed the remainder of the game. He is also listed as doubtful for Saturday's contest with Nebraska. Robinson was making his first appearance since 2005 after missing all of the 2006 season with a broken knee cap.

No Riley Skinner? No problem Wake Forest is leading 10-6 with 5 minutes left in the first half

Not so fast my friend. Huskers just scored on a Sam Keller to Sean Hill pass to make it 13-10. I am surprised Wake is hanging in there this well, though.

Re: Wake Forest vs. Nebraska

I'm stunned the game was a close as it was. Nebraska needed a pick in the end zone to seal the deal in this one, but I guess a win's a win.
