| Fire Al Groh No ACC coach is on the hotseat more than Virginia's Al Groh. According to Rivals.com, "The Cavaliers went 9-5 in Groh's second season in Charlottesville, but now appear headed in the wrong direction. The seven wins in '05 were followed by seven losses in '06. Also, the Cavs were shut out in two of their last three games. Complicating matters is the fact they've lost their last three games to Virginia Tech. Losing streaks to state rivals are not good for job security." Will Al Groh save his job this season, or is his fate all but sealed? | Re: Fire Al Groh No, not yet. They have kinda of a pie schedule. They have played Wyoming (who they lost to), Duke, UNC (I know I'm a fan but we are not there yet), Georgia Tech, Pitt, & Middle Tennessee State. The only real tough teams they have left are Maryland, Miami, and Virginia Tech and these are all away games except for the VA Tech game. They have two home games left against UConn and Wake Forest and I think they can win these two. They have NC State away and State has a pretty tough environment and a very drunk and loud crowd that attends their games, so they could lose this one too. At best, I see Virginia coming out with a 8-4, which could save Groh's job. Or maybe not! |
