Cavaliers DE Chris Long

Virginia Tech defensive end Chris Long has the position in his blood - he's the son of Oakland Raiders great Howie Long. But Chris is set to make his own name, according to Rivals.com, who says "Long turned down the lure of a big NFL payday to return for his senior year after collecting 12 tackles for loss last season. He almost certainly will get taken in the first round next year and could be one of the top overall picks." So how good is he?

Re: Cavaliers DE Chris Long

Man, I got a chance to see him play in the UNC / Virginia game last year and he is for real. He is a big kid who is very explosive off of the line. He could very easily become one of the most dominating DE's in the country this year. And it is in his blood. I saw an interview with him on ESPN and he was asked who does he go to when has questions about football and he said his coaches. They asked why not his father and he stated that he and his father try to not to talk about football because both of their lives have been surrounded by that. They want to make their time together special. He seems to be a very good kid also, I just hope he has a really bad game against UNC.

Re: Cavaliers DE Chris Long

I see that back in April that Long had been named to the Lott Trophy watch list as well. Can't wait to get a good look at this kid in 2007!
