The SEC wants to drop Vanderbilt and pick up Applachian State. I thought this was funny until I heard it from a source close to App State. Supposedly North Carolina is a target for the SEC and it is virtually impossible to see anybody leaving the ACC to come over here. Coach Jerry Moore has done an excellent job with the Mountaineer program and they are expanding thier facilities. Go back and look at this program they played LSU and Auburn tough and beat Michigan. They remind me of the Golden Eagles of So.Miss back in the late 80's and early 90's when they tatooed FSU on national TV. What do you as fans think of this move?

If there is any truth, I think it's BS.... leave the conference alone, and don't take away from it.

It'll never happen. If App. State did ever make the jump to Div. I-A, they wouldn't go right into a BCS conference, you know?

Lefty normally I would say you are quite correct in your theory... then again we are dealing with the NCAA. People in Boone North Carolina are taking this as a serious challenge after all they are the 3-time defending champs. Not to be throwing off on Vanderbilt but when was the last time they created excitement and were a threat to win in the SEC? I thought that App State might go into Conference USA or possibly the Big East but that was just my thoughts.

C-USA was where I was thinking, too. Going from the FCS to the SEC would be way too much of a culture shock for the program, IMO.

If they made the jump to the SEC it would be a tough life until they got some size to the school. On the other hand adversity makes you grow up quick.

The rumor is growing in BOONE NC the mountaineers are looking to 4-peat and then move to Div 1. At this point I would be worried if the Commodores don't have a good season.
