With his parents and three of his four siblings looking on, Earl Bennett embarked on a new chapter in his football career Thursday afternoon, declaring himself eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft and passing on his senior season of eligibility for Vanderbilt.
“It was just me feeling like my time at Vanderbilt was up, just praying to God and asking Him ... to guide me in the right way ... throughout this process,” said Bennett, whose 236 career receptions are a Southeastern Conference record.“I had a great three years here; there’s nowhere else I’d rather been in these three years. I thank Coach (Bobby) Johnson and his staff ... for allowing me the chance to come in here and help this program.”

I think this is a good move. This isn't the world's strongest WR draft. Where is Bennett projected? First rounder, I would think.
