Re: The Torch

Got the pics today Racer Duck. They were so bright, I had to put on my dark sunglasses to read what everybody shared. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat from the incredible and uplifting words that were written. What a remarkable thing The Torch is. I'm so humbly honored to be a part of it with everyone who took the time to build the fire and keep it burning.

And your letter was perfect Racer Duck. Well done!

I too feel humbled and honored to have had a chance to touch and write in such an example of friendship and caring for another.

I agree on the letter, well done.

Re: The Torch

The more I think about it, the more awesome I realize this whole thing was. From the very first spark of an idea, to the carrying out of that idea, and then for this to travel across the country. And it was all started on the internet. Usually something involving money you think scam, but it never even occurred to me. What a wonderful blessing the way God has worked through and with us. It has affected each of us in a way only He understands completely.
I am awed to be a part of this group.
The letter was great, Racer D. Actually I think you missed your calling. You would make a great preacher!
Blessings to all of you.

Thanks, though I have some public speaking experience I wouldn't classify it as all that hot - I write much better than I speak!

I'm shocked!

The credit for this whole thing goes to God and those he chose to carry out the mission.

I know I played a part and am satisfied to have "met requirements", but then I was just the "mouth", you guys were the soul. It was you who came up with the idea, the momentum you gave it plus your words, thoughts and prayers are what makes it so awesome. I salute the 10 of you for all you've done.

I know I'm sounding like it's all over, but, the flame is lit and will remain so forever. Our part was just the start of it's journey.

Thanks for including me.

Re: The Torch

So many thoughts run through my wicked mind when I read this thread. We are a group of people connected outwardly by the internet. Within us there is a common thread, that being our belief in our God. I suspect that the group represents different religions but during this time of need by a fellow man not once was that question brought up. What we have done as a group was done without any thought of rewards or pats on the back. I believe we all did it as a sign to the recipient of this torch that we care. Our reward will be found one day when it counts the most. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that I would be a part of this in the way that it happened. Thank you all for being a part and thank you all for allowing me to be a part.

Now think about what we have done and wonder why it can't happen globally. We are all people of different backgrounds and we came together not thinking about any of that but thinking about the goal we have. Hopefully our thoughts and prayers will help create success. How nice would it be if those in power else where would make the same unselfish attempt.

Sorry to be religious and political as it isn't an area GTG approves of but for those of you in the know .... hopefully you'll understand and excuse me this one time.

Re: The Torch

RD the letter you wrote was perfect, as were all the notes written. I was so honored to be a part of this.
To me this no longer is just a forum I belong to. It kinda feels like family now. Something told me when I found this place, that this one was different and had special people on it, and that feeling was right. And I feel like my life has been so blessed. The words written won't just be an encourgement to one, they are also encourgement to me. I get them out and read them every morning when I get up, and I get that warm fuzy feeling all over again and know no matter what happens to me, it's gonna be a good day.
