| Vols could curtail Vandy sack success Vanderbilt heads into Saturday's matchup with No. 19 Tennessee ranked second in the Southeastern Conference with 27 sacks. The Volunteers lead the league in fewest sacks allowed with three. "We've been fortunate in getting a lot of sacks this year," Commodores Coach Bobby Johnson said. "Even if you don't sack them, you can get pressure, force them to maybe throw it quicker than they'd like to, disrupt the timing of the whole thing (offensively). You don't have to get sacks to have an effective pass rush, but that is certainly a bonus." The Commodores have surpassed the 25 sacks collected by the 2005 team for the most in Johnson's Vanderbilt tenure. Broderick Stewart, who had a pair of sacks in this past Saturday's loss to Kentucky, leads the team with five. But 13 different players have been credited with at least a half-sack and seven have more than one. Full Story
