| Commodores want to be copy 'Cats Even with losses in their last two outings, the Kentucky Wildcats' surge into national prominence has provided tangible proof that a team can rise up from the bottom of the Southeastern Conference's Eastern Division. Don't think the Vanderbilt Commodores haven't noticed. As the two teams head into this weekend's game, Kentucky's play en route to a 6-3 record and a Top 25 ranking thus far has to be providing some inspiration to a Vanderbilt program that's trying to duplicate such success. "We'd like to be able to do that," Commodores Coach Bobby Johnson said. "Kentucky's a state school; they've got a lot of resources, and they've taken advantage of them.
