| Gators coach says Vandy is no easy win Either Florida's Urban Meyer wants Bobby Johnson's vote in the coaches' poll, or the third-year head Gator is genuinely impressed with Vanderbilt heading into this weekend's matchup between the two Southeastern Conference East Division rivals. "It is a much different defensive team than it was two years ago," Meyer said. "They have very talented corners; their defensive front is playing very well; and I think their middle linebacker is one of the best in the conference." In each of Meyer's previous meetings with the Commodores, Florida won by a narrow margin — a 49-42 double-overtime decision in Gainesville in 2005, and a 25-19 outcome last season. "That first year, I thought they had the best quarterback in college football in Jay Cutler, and (Earl) Bennett was a tremendous receiver; the defense was a little thin," Meyer said. "Last year, they had much better personnel. This year, I think they're right in the middle of the (SEC) pack or possibly the upper half." Full Story
