Vanderbilt defensive tackle Theo Horrocks is well aware that two of his position mates have each recorded their first collegiate interceptions this season.

Gabe Hall grabbed an errant Richmond pass on the first play from scrimmage in the Commodores' season opener, and Greg Billinger picked off a pass in Saturday's win over Eastern Michigan.

"I'm looking for it," said the senior co-captain, who doesn't have an interception at Vandy but has forced four fumbles and recovered one.

Though he played defensive tackle and offensive guard at Lincoln County High, Horrocks said all eyes should be on the end zone if he ever does catch a ball.

"I keep telling them I'm going to the house with it if I get one," he said.

Coach Bobby Johnson said that the positives of Chris Nickson's performance Saturday shouldn't be overshadowed by the four pickoffs he suffered.

"Chris made some big plays running the ball for us, and he had two touchdown passes," Johnson said. "You've got to remember that, too. The one he threw to Sean Walker, he stood in the pocket, waited for him to come open. They were putting a pretty good rush on right there. That's just what you want him to do.

"He can do those things. He'll do them again."

Johnson said he doesn't expect any ill effect from the interceptions when Nickson goes against Auburn this weekend.
