| Vanderbilt's offensive line play improves weekly For an offensive line that was billed as one of Vanderbilt's strengths heading into the season, the Commodores' 183 rushing yards in their last outing should be the bottom end of the norm. In fact, that winning effort against Ole Miss represents a season high. Vanderbilt, whose rushing game is ranked 10th in the Southeastern Conference, looks to build on that performance Saturday when Eastern Michigan visits in a nonconference matchup."As you practice more, you see the mistakes you make in the first couple of games and try to get them corrected," Commodores Coach Bobby Johnson said. "I think Coach (Robbie) Caldwell did a fantastic job really concentrating on what we had to do with the offensive line to get those kind of holes for our backs, and our backs ran extremely hard."
