| Vanderbilt's offense looks for end results Despite accounting for just five receptions in three games, it hardly would be accurate to say the tight end position has been non-productive for Vanderbilt. Receiving is just half of the equation for Brad Allen, Jake Bradford and Justin Green, the three who have manned that role. Their blocking ability is of equal significance, though not nearly as glamorous. "They often have extremely important blocks on our running plays," Coach Bobby Johnson said as his team prepared for Saturday's matchup with visiting Eastern Michigan. "They're an integral part of everything in the offense. Short-yardage, goal-line (situations) — they've got to be in those situations, too."For the most part, the balls the tight ends have caught have come in key situations. Four of the five have resulted in first downs, with three of those extending scoring drives. Included is a 15-yarder by Allen to convert a fourth-and-2 against Ole Miss.
