| Vandy linebacker finally can taste successes Hard work pays off. Vanderbilt's Marcus Buggs has proved that as an undersized linebacker who needs four hours this semester to graduate with his human and organizational development degree. But the Nashville native also has had it proved to him on a daily basis by his parents, both college graduates and owners of Cal's Country Kitchen in Madison."My folks instilled hard work in me; that's what they do, all day, every day, and that's what I try to do when I go out on the field," the former Goodpasture High star said regarding Carolyn and Leon Buggs. While Carolyn runs the restaurant through the lunch rush, Leon pulls early morning duty — beginning at 4:30 a.m. — before heading to his "other job," production manager at Bryan's in Gallatin. "They've worked hard ever since I can remember," Marcus said. "It just shows the fruits of your labor pay off when you work hard."
