| Vandy offense is up, running By all accounts, Vanderbilt's running game had been lacking prior to Saturday's SEC matchup with Ole Miss. Cassen Jackson-Garrison, for one game at least, fixed that. ![]() The Commodore senior tailback rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns in the 31-17 victory. That marked the team's first 100-yard game since Chris Nickson went for 150 against Duke in October and the first by a running back since Jackson-Garrison gained a career-high 142 against Temple on Sept. 30, 2006. With Jackson-garrison leading the way, Vanderbilt finished with 183 rushing yards and 383 total offensive yards. The 183 ground yards was the most for the Commodores since posting 235 in the Oct. 28 Duke win last year. "We hadn't been running the ball very well," left tackle Chris Williams said. "We took that as a personal challenge. Running is the key to the game; it opens everything up." Vandy offense is up, running - Nashville, Tennessee - Tuesday, 09/18/07
