| Vandy offense puts on show in SEC home win This time, Vanderbilt turned a dominant offensive performance against Ole Miss into a victory. The Commodores rolled up 383 yards and 25 first downs in their 31-17 win Saturday, their first Southeastern Conference home triumph since defeating the Rebels 31-23 on Sept. 17, 2005. Last year, Vanderbilt outgained Ole Miss by 221 yards and had a plus-16 first-down differential, but lost a 17-10 decision in Oxford — largely on the basis of an interception and four lost fumbles.Saturday night, the Commodores' only turnover was a Chris Nickson fumble on the first possession of the second half. Vanderbilt, which won time of possession (34:50 to 25:10) for the first time this season, had a 100-yard rusher (Cassen Jackson-Garrison, 119), a 100-yard receiver (Earl Bennett, 100) and a 200-yard passer (Chris Nickson, 200) for the first time since its 2005 win over Ole Miss.
