| Vanderbilt's Langford fired up for Alabama Sore ribs kept Vanderbilt safety Reshard Langford out of the second half of last week’s game against Richmond. Nothing, he said, will keep him out of Saturday’s game against Alabama. Langford, a native of Tanner, Ala., practiced with some soreness Tuesday but said there is “no doubt” he will play Saturday. “This is one of the games I live for as a college football player,” he said. “It’s going to be exciting. It’s going to be sold out. It’s going to be an all-out war between Vanderbilt and Alabama.” Langford, one of the team’s top defenders, was kicked in the ribs in the first half of last week’s game against Richmond and was replaced by reserve safety Brent Trice. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt linebacker Patrick Benoist, a likely starter, has yet to return to practice since suffering a preseason ankle injury. Reserve offensive lineman Bradley Vierling, who fills in at guard and center, continues to be out of action indefinitely. He performed light running drills Tuesday with a wrapped knee. Defensive tackle Theo Horrocks sat out Tuesday’s practice with a sore foot as a precautionary measure but said he will play Saturday. ActivePaper Daily
