Before arriving at Vandy the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Quinn had been a top receiver at South Carolina prep power Byrnes High. As a senior, he caught 77 passes for 1,038 yards and 15 touchdowns as the team won its third straight state crown and was ranked No. 2 in the nation. In 2006, he snapped in punting situations in all 12 Commodore contests, beginning with the season opener at Michigan.
