| Smotherman returns to form injury After a position change last fall and a knee injury in the spring, former Smyrna High standout Adam Smotherman might finally be ready to get on the field for Vanderbilt. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound redshirt freshman is competing for time in the Commodores' defensive tackle rotation, behind likely starters Theo Horrocks and Gabe Hall and with sophomore Greg Billinger. Originally signed as an offensive tackle after playing tackle, tight end and defensive end in high school, Smotherman switched over to defense during preseason workouts last August.
