| Canucks hire Mike Gillis Back in late April, the Vancouver Canucks hired Mike Gillis as their new GM. According to the Associated Press, "Gillis replaces Dave Nonis, who was fired April 14 after the Canucks missed the playoffs one season after winning the Northwest Division... The 49-year-old Gillis, who signed a five-year deal, will decide whether to keep coach Alain Vigneault." Good hire? And what will he wind up doing about the coaching situation? Don't get rid of the coach - beef up the offense. Wow. or hey maybe they should dump him - so the leafs can have him. yeah...
