Kirilenko ready to walk away from $63 million contract

As evidence of his conviction to leave Utah, Andrei Kirilenko said in an interview with a Russian newspaper published Thursday that he is willing to walk away from the $63 million left on his contract. "I am prepared to go without it," Kirilenko told the Sport Express newspaper. "This is a lot of money, even for an NBA club. So what. Maybe this money could go to pay for more players or for something else. "I have never been unfair and I don't want to enjoy something that I don't deserve. Big money is obviously good, but I am prepared to make less. The size of my salary doesn't mean that much for me. The main thing is to play with a spark." -- Salt Lake Tribune

Yeah, he and Sloan reportedly had a meeting the other day.

According to the Associated Press, "Andrei Kirilenko and Jerry Sloan sat down Monday for the first time since the disgruntled forward announced he was frustrated with the coach's gruff and demanding style... If Kirilenko was trying to talk his way out of Utah by upsetting Sloan, it didn't work. The often-cantankerous coach sounded downright understanding, saying he was willing to work with Kirilenko."

Play with a spark?...what kind of crazy talk is that?...he is an NBAer gosh darn it!...he needs to talk money......Always like the lanky forward with the multiple block games...maybe he will find his way to Boston.
