| Jazz Adjusting to Holding Series Lead SALT LAKE CITY, May 8 (AP) -- For now, the Utah Jazz can focus on trying to keep a lead in a playoff series rather than having to come from behind. The Jazz lead the Golden State Warriors 1-0 in the Western Conference semifinals after winning the opener 116-112 on Monday. It's the first time Utah has opened a series with a victory since 2001. The Jazz had to rally after losing the first two games against the Rockets in the opening round and never led in the series until they won Game 7 in Houston on Saturday. So how will they handle being in front? "I tell them to win every game. Sometimes they don't listen,'' coach Jerry Sloan said after practice Tuesday. | Re: Davis Carries Warriors to Game 3 Victory Utah has now taken a 3-1 series lead over Golden State with yesterday's 115-101 win. According to the Associated Press, "Carlos Boozer had 34 points and 12 rebounds and the Jazz handed the eighth-seeded Warriors their first home loss of the postseason... With a poised, gritty performance that should have made the former Jazz greats proud, Utah earned the chance to clinch its first trip to the conference finals since 1998 with a victory at home in Game 5 on Tuesday night, ending the Warriors' improbable run of playoff excitement." Can they close it out on Tuesday. |
