USC Runners: Reggie Bush or O.J. Simpson?

Best runner to come out of Tailback-U?...Simpson?, Charles White?, Ricky Bell, Marcus Allen, or Reggie Bush?...

My choice? Anthony Davis...

USC Legends Anthony Davis

There was also a guy named Mike Garrett. I have to go with OJ, he was lightning quick and powerful. Marcus allen and Reggie Bush are close behind on my list.

Its because of a personal bias that I have to pick one of my all-time favorites, Marcus Allen, over O.J. atop that list. Although there have been some damn line tailbacks play for the Trojans over the years, haven't there!

Yep... I went with Anthony...the kid would have one a Heisman the year he destroyed Notre Dame by himself...only the voting had already been done...what a college level talent...later went to the CFL...and back to the NFl for a stint...as forgotten as Ricky Bell...Garrett ran for the Chiefs in the 60's ...great back as well.

I have to go with Marcus Allen.
I don't think Bush should even be on the list considering he hasn't played a regular season game. Unless we are considering just college stats.

Considering college careers alone, I'd say Marcus Allen...then OJ. Allen was so dominating and looked like it came easy to him. Each Saturday, he'd run over/around/through the competition racking up stats and awards.

No national championship with Allen I believe...though Anthony Davis, OJ, charles White and Reggie Bush can make the claim...

LOL once again are we discussing college, pro, or total career.

Either way my pick is still Allen. Put him in his prime aginst Oklahoma with that USC team and he would have had a ring too, IMHO.

Twists and turns on the questions are at my discretion... ...its whatever keeps the deabate open...titles are indeed subjective and we shouldn't penalize Allen...but then again, Someone like Davis was an all purpose back who did a heck of a job returning kicks as well...

Re: USC Runners: Reggie Bush or O.J. Simpson?

I will never forget the performance of Anthony Davis in the 2nd half against Notre Dame. Down 24-6 at the half, Anthony Davis came out in the 2nd half and returned the kickoff for a TD. I believe he ended up with 5TDS and USC won 55-24. I watched it in the den with my grandpa back when I was about 10 years old in Long Beach, Ca. That afternoon is one of my favorite memories.
