Replacing Bush and White

Okay, so the USC Trojans can't really hope to replace Reggie Bush and LenDale White, but they do need to find a quality tailback. According to Street & Smiths, right now redshirt senior Ryan Powdrell (6-0, 250 pounds) is listed #1 on the depth chart at tailback. That's because Herschel Dennis suffered a season-ending knee injury during spring drills. Keep an eye on highly touted true freshman Stafon Johnson (6-1, 210 pounds) too; he's expected to get a lot of carries. Any chance the Powdrell - Johnson combo will be able to come anywhere close to Bush & White's combined 2005 totals of 3,000+ rushing yards and 40 touchdowns?

Re: Replacing Bush and White

Last night I had seen on ESPN that the Trojans have to replace 97.1% of their offense from last year. Is it possible with the team they have this year?

Re: Replacing Bush and White

Obviously USC will not be able to replace one of the most prolific running back combos in NCAA history but they do have several guys that will platoon for the job. They have powdrell but lets not forget that USC had the best recruiting class last year according to rivals.com. They got Johnson who I'm convinced will be an absolute star but they also got three other four-star running backs according to rivals. Lets also not forget that among Jarret, Smith and Turner, they will have one of the better receiving corps in college football next year which will open up the running game a lot.

Wow, a 250 lb tailback huh?...not quite the look that their legendary Tailbacks have had over the years.
