There may be a QB change forthcoming for the USC Trojans.

According to the Yahoo! Sports rumors page, "USC quarterback John David Booty suffered a fractured finger on his throwing hand during Saturday night's 24-23 loss to Stanford, setting up a potentially delicate decision for USC coaches this week. Third-year sophomore Mark Sanchez did not play against the Cardinal, but he will probably get some first-team snaps in practice this week as Booty's condition is evaluated."

While technically injury related, there seems to be some rejoicing among the USC fans that Sanchez is coming in for Booty. What do you think?

Maybe the Sanchez kid is the real deal? what do you know about him?

He almost beat out Booty to replace Leinart from the get-go.

In 2005, Sports Illustrated dubbed him the next great Trojan QB. Lots of raw talent.

Well, I think the point is a lot of fans are expecting the opposite - not a drop off, but a better QB in Sanchez. We'll see.

It's official - Matt Sanchez will get the start today vs. Arizona.

According to the Associated Press, "Sanchez replaces John David Booty, who suffered a broken middle finger on his throwing hand in the second quarter of the Trojans' 24-23 loss to the Cardinal... Sanchez saw limited action backing up Matt Leinart in 2005 and Booty last season. He has played in eight games for USC, but has completed just 5-of-10 passes for 86 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions."
