Cal vs USC

This game was supposed to be #7 vs #8, but Arizona kind of spoiled that by beating Cal on Saturday. USC improved to 8-1 with a huge win over Oregon, and could really throw themselves into the mix for a BCS title game berth with a win here. Can they get it, or will the Bears pull off the upset on the road?

Re: Cal vs USC

I have yet to see Cal win in a big spot, but now that their hopes are dashed, they may just step up. But don't count on it.

Re: Cal vs USC

After the Ohio vs Mich game, this one will probably be the 2nd most watched game this weekend. (Especially since the Gators have a cupcake game this weekend.) USC by 13.

Cal vs USC - Rose Bowl implications

It's pretty simple: the Pac-10's top 2 teams--No. 4 USC and No. 17 California--meet in Los Angeles with a Rose Bowl berth on the line. A USC win would keep the Trojans on pace to capture at least a share of an unprecedented fifth straight league title and a guaranteed spot in their 31st Rose Bowl while staying alive in the BCS Championship Game mix (Troy is currently third in the BCS standings). If Cal wins, the Golden Bears would head to Pasadena for the first time since the 1958 season.

Re: Cal vs USC - Rose Bowl implications

Confusing how #17 Cal would win the conference outright with a win, but #4 Southern Cal would only be guaranteed a share. Both teams have just 1 loss to conference opposition, right? So what's the deal here?

Booty leads USC over Cal

John David Booty passed for 238 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns, the USC defense shut down California in the second half, and the Trojans beat the Golden Bears 23-9 Saturday night to clinch the Pac-10 championship and a berth in the Rose Bowl.
