ABC announcer Brent Musburger is in hot water with USC today, as the university filed a formal complaint with the ESPN/ABC offices and the Pac-10 about comments he made during Saturday's Trojans - Cornhuskers game.

The school alleges that late in the broadcast, Musburger made public priveleged information when he said that QB John David Booty "told us that his signal when he finds one-on-one and they're coming, it's that 'hang loose,' that familiar sign you've seen surfers use." They allege that such information was never meant to be made public.

What do you guys think about this situation?

Actually, I'm surprised things like this don't happen more often. I know Musburger regrets saying it over the air as I'm sure it was said to him in private and meant to be kept private.

Still, I don't think it will have a large effect on John David Booty's play or USC's offense. He'll make changes, no doubt about that, but he should still lead the Trojans to Pac-10 glory.
