Love, Collison going to NBA

The L.A. Times is reporting that UCLA's Kevin Love and Darren Collison will enter the NBA Draft. Is this the right move for these two?

Love will be eaten alive in the pros right now.

I heard Howland refuted the claim they were declaring. I don't think either player is ready for the NBA.

Ready or not, if someone offers them millions what are they gonna do ? Stay in college and get that coveted degree or go out on the road at age 19-20 driving the hottest BMW made ???

What would you do ?

Re: Love, Collison going to NBA

If I was Collison I would bolt, get paid, and hopefully stick in the league. In Loves case I would stay and get in better shape. A guy with his talent should be a top 3 pick, right now he's projected to fall to the middle of the first. I think alot of that has to do with his soft body and lack of athleticism. A couple of summers with the right training staff and he could earn millions more right out the gate.

Yeah, Love could stand another year to improve his conditioning. Maybe he thinks he can learn more and improve more working with NBA players in practice than he could at UCLA though, who knows?

Re: Love, Collison going to NBA

love needs to hit the weight room. cuz in the nba he wont be the only 6'9 interior player. collison on the other hand is ready. i dont really think about teh size thing, cuz wasnt chris paul supposed to be to small also? wasnt isiah thomas supposed to be to small to make a difference? and rajon rondo? besides cleveland may draft him and if lebron has a pure point guard on his team we'll be able to see him play at a karl malone-like level

Re: Love, Collison going to NBA

Kevin Love is one of the few guys who I thought could leave now and be a solid NBA player. He needs to lift a few weights and burn off some of that baby fat he still has. If he does that he will be an All Star. Reminds me of Brad Miller

Re: Love, Collison going to NBA

If someone reminds you of Brad Miller then he's not an All-Star! Love is hyped because he can throw a long outlet pass ala Wes Unseld. He is going to be another in a long line of UCLA busts in the pros.

That's comparing him to one heck of a decent player...and a guy who centered a championship team...I think he will be better than Brad Miller.

Rondo is blessed to play with 3 all stars, 2 of which will be hall of famers. And Collison is no Paul or Isiah. He'll have a Earl Watson type of career at best. Start for some bad teams, be a valuable asset coming off the bench for good teams. That is all.
