| Show Respect of the Bruins San Antonio, TX – The Pac-10 is arguably the best conference in College Basketball. The UCLA Bruins are unarguably the best team in the Pac-10. A lot of people picked the Bruins the to win the tourney going into the NCAA Tournament. Now why is everyone not giving them the sliest chance to win the tournament now? The Bruins may have had the best performance of the first round of the tourney, when they held Mississippi Valley State to an all-time tournament low 29 points as they won that game 70-29. The Bruins also beat destroyed Xavier in an Elite 8 game, winning, 76-57, but everyone is focusing on a few negative games in between. Those game were when they edged the ninth seeded Texas A&M Aggies by a score of 53-49 on a controversial no call and when they beat a Cinderella in the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in the Sweet 16 by a score of 88-78, but they almost blew a 21 point lead in the 2nd half. The A&M game was little concerning for someone liked me who picked the Bruins to win it all, but the bottom line is they won the game, people made a bigger deal that they only won by four than they would’ve if UCLA lost. Then there was the Western Kentucky game. UCLA did lead by 21 at half, and they let the lead slip to 3 points with about four minutes left, but what people don’t remember is they basically played that whole game with no Darren Collison. Collison played very little because of foul trouble and fouled out with 5 minutes to go, only scoring 4 points. Collison, (other than maybe Kevin Love) is UCLA’s best player you can’t expect them to be a dominant destroying team with him playing like that. Then with all the negative press the Bruins were getting for those close has covered up all the great Bruins have done in the tourney. Like how Kevin Love has been an absolute animal, he is destroying opposing big men. James Keefe has been great off the bench he had a double double in the Western Kentucky game. Now UCLA faces Memphis on Saturday, and to be honest I think it’s a great match-up for the Bruins. Darren Collison can shut down Derek Rose; he is good enough on the defensive end to keep him in tact. Kevin Love will get to face the best interior defender he’s seen so far in Joey Dorsey, but I think he will be fine. Now UCLA’s biggest problem will be Chris Douglas-Roberts, they don’t have a guy who will be a perfect match-up for CDR. Maybe Josh Shipp, but Douglas-Roberts could be dangerous in this one. I like UCLA to win this game pretty easily. The game is at 6:07 PM Eastern on CBS, Saturday night, April 5, once again on CBS.

| Re: Show Respect of the Bruins this is what i dont understand. and i dont mean to bring this back up but i just saw this thread for the efirst time. how is 70-29 not considered running up the score? thats bigger than UNC's margin of victory. and they "ran it up" on a team(s) much better than mississippi valley state. why should we ridicule the tarheels for "running it up" but show respect to the bruins for doing the same? now collison is the nations best point guard. clutch in every sense of teh word. but they got 2 calls in the last regular season games that were CLEARLY bs.and i saw those 2 games live, not on a sportscenter conversation. ray charles coulda seen it. then they got away with a foul in the end of the texas a&m game that was shown over and over on national tv teh next day. now that is true conspiracy. if the NCAA is really "taking care" of a team then its happening at UCLA not UNC. seriously. where are all the conspiracy theorist when all this was happening? i'll tell you. busy trying to make excuses for why UNC is so damn good and doeasnt get caught slippin against teams it should steam roll. the "home state/court" thing means nothing since UNC is undefeated on the road. their first loss was an upset by maryland and the second was at home to duke, only 3 days after ty lawson wrecked his ankle. UCLA is the one getting help from high places. not UNC
