UCLA sophomore Josh Shipp, the Bruins' second-leading scorer in 2006-07 at 13.3 points per game, had a successful outpatient arthroscopic left hip procedure performed by Dr. Carlos A. Guanche at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys, Calif., on Friday afternoon.
It was the same surgery that Shipp had on his right hip on Sept. 28, 2005. After missing all but four games of the 2005-06 season after the surgery, Shipp returned this year and started and played in 35 of the 36 games of the 2006-07 campaign.
