Part of this Sam Smith passage is hyperbole, the rest is worth considering. From the Chicago Tribune:

The fall last week marked the fifth time since his sophomore year at Texas he has been carried off the court with a stinger or temporary paralysis. Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo suggested Ford should alter his style to avoid contact in the lane.

"I talked to him last episode, and I got a sense that each and every time something happens to him, he's going to have this idea in his mind that it might be the last time he plays," Colangelo said.

T.j Ford had a very bad fall against the Hawks. In the play I think Horford did't do it intentionally to give Ford a very hard fall. If Tj Ford is going to leave this will be very bad for the Toronto Raptors because they don't have a starting point guard anymore. Hope Tj ford will recover from his injury and still be able to play for the NBA.

Walk away while you still can. He can alter his play, but at some point he is going to take a hard hit. All it takes is one, and he may not walk again. Too much at stake for me.
